Yeshwant Rural Education Society (Yeshwant Gramin Shikshan Sanstha) was founded with an objective to cater to the needs of rural area population in terms of educational facilities especially in remote villages of Wardha District. The concept of society was conceived by Shri Bapuraoji Deshmukh, a close associate and a true follower of Mahatma Gandhi and Ex-Member of Parliament. He established this Society with a firm belief that Teaching is a Mission and not a Profession! in the year 1959. The Yeshwant Rural Education Society is registered on 14-09-1959 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 with Registration Number E 75/59 and registered on 13-07-1961 under Bombay Public Trust Act XXIX of 1950 at the Public Registration Office Nagpur Region, Nagpur with Registration Number F-2(W).
Envisaging education in the right perspective Bapuraoji Deshmukh, called Daaji by the people of Wardha out of love and regards, established many schools and colleges under the aegis of Yeshwant Rural Education Society to make the education within the reach of the poorest of the poor. After his sad demise in 1990, his elder son Shri Sureshbhau Deshmukh took over the reins as Chairman of Yeshwant Rural Education Society. Being the great son of great father Shri Sureshbhau Deshmukh ensures that academic objectives are seriously pursued and effectively implemented. Because of the social commitment of Yeshwant Rural Education Society, the Government of Maharashtra has conferred the State Award for the Year 2002 to this Society for its outstanding contribution in the service of people in the field of education.
