PG Department Of Mechanical Engineerig

Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1983 as department of production engineering. The Department is presently running three programs. Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (UG) and M. Tech.-CAD / CAM (PG). The intake capacity at UG is 90 while PG is 18 and department also run research programme (Ph.D). The department has qualified and dedicated faculty members with specialization in various areas like Production, Design of Machine, CAD/CAM Thermal, Industrial Engg, Heat Power, Automobile, etc. Department is having 9 different laboratories with Heat Power Engineering Lab, FMS & Robotics Lab, Dynamics of Machines Lab, Computer Lab, Mechanical Measurement & Metrology Lab, Heat Transfer Lab advanced configuration Mechanicals and necessary facilities. The department is dedicated to conduct many events throughout the year for development of students as well as faculty. Dr. M. J. Sheikh is the head of Department. For the research & development activities of students department runs The First Lab (TFL Club). The college runs ISAM chapter in collaboration with IIT Madras at Mechanical engineering department.
